Cell Spacings, Line Spacings, and Margins

Whenever a new cell is created, it's left edge will be positioned #cellSkip pixels to the right of the previous cell. When a cell is finished, it will be placed on the current row. If it is too wide for the row (because its right edge is beyond #rightSkip pixels from the right edge of the window), it will start a new row that is #lineSkip pixels below the bottom of the tallest cell in the previous row. The left edge of a cell on a new row will be #leftSkip pixels from the edge of the window or GroupBox.

You can change any spacing or margin by changing the value of the key required variables. The new settings will take place the next time a cell finishes or gets created or the next time a new line is started. For Example:

#cellSkip=0
#lineSkip=0
#leftSkip=20
ShowAll all

will show all remaining data in a template using cells and rows with zero spacing and a new left margin

Notes

  1. Any changes made to #cellSkip, #lineSkip, #leftSkip, and #rightSkip will be passed along to any templates called by the current template. When any template finishes, however, these variables will be reset to the values they had when that template began. A template, therefore, need not be concerned with resetting the values before it is done.
  2. The top and bottom margins can be read with #topMargin$ and #bottomMargin$ variables, but cannot be changed except in the format's editing properties. If any window wants a different top margin, use a NewLine command at the beginning of the template to add or substract from the current top margin setting.
  3. Instead of positioning cells with spacing variables, any cell can be positioned at a specific location with horizontal and vertical movement commands.
